One would think that they'd stop including it in books that are supposed to be "true" accounts. But perhaps they still publish it because it's so very well known and somehow is still widely accepted as being true.Quote:

Why Guyver can't sleep in a room with wood floors...........

(forgive the spelling errors, typing fast)
When I was growing up my family was poor. The only place that my parents could afford for us to live with enough room was a run down house with no carpets on the floors, peeling wallpaper and lots of drafts.
My brother and I shared a room together at the back of the house. and I (being the bigger brother) had to sleep on the bottom bunk. Every night I would wake up to a scraping noise coming from under my bed. After a month of getting little sleep from thinking about monsters under the bed I got the guts to look. Nothing. But the scratching noise was louder. I put my ear to the wood floor and the noise was coming from under the floor. I jumped back in bed and stayed awake till the next morning and told my mom. She said it was mice or rats under the floor and not to worry about it.
A few days later I was in the back yard helping my dad remove some trash that had been piled up on the back of the house (right under my bedroom window). Under an old box spring we fond the oddest thing. A little set of brick steps. They were one brick wide deep on each step and 4 bricks wide. The led down a few feet to a small wooden door that my dad told me was a crawl space under the house (under my bedroom window). It had a little handel and a old rusted pad lock on it (locked).
That night I heard the scratching again. This time All I could think of was the little door and the little steps. No sleep.
The next day I was helping my dad with the last of the trash. A neighbor came over to give us a hand. I can't remember the guys name but he was talking to my dad about the little door. he said he had never seen it before and was laughing at the little steps. He asked my dad if he knew the people who had lived here before us. He said no and the guy started in with the "Bad Neighbor" stories. About how the Father was a drunk and the mom was a mousie lil lady. They had a kid who was retarded and that they sent him off to a home. The father was then arested after stealing some money from his job and the mother had gone crazy (you know, the standard "freaky neighbors" story) and the house had set empty for a while before we moved in.
REMEMBER
This is a TRUE story.
That night I was too tired to not sleep but had freaky dreams about the little door and a bunch of small people living under the house. I was spooked by that thought for a long time. A month or so later we had a pipe break under the house and my dad had to go into the crawl space to fix it. When he broke the lock off the door I held my breath as he opened it. It swong open and it was so dark. I will always remember how dark it looked at first. My dad lit a flashlight, squated down and went in.
He started cussing about the pipe and came back out. he left the flashlight on the steps and went in to call the landlord. I took the light and looked into the crawl space. It was just a big dirty gap between the house and the ground. I could see the underside of the boards that were my bedroom floor and it looked to me like someone had clawed at the bottom of them. Long splintery grooves could be seen on them. I looked around a little more. I found a little plastic cave man. You know, the ones that are about the same size of littel green army men. Anywho, I also found a toy dump truck and a lot of other kids toys in a corner. I even found a little red and blue striped t-shirt. I brought everything I found out and showed it to my dad. He wanted me to tell him where I had found the shirt. I did. He went back in and came back out a few minuts later. He said nothing. He went to the phone and called someone. Five minuts after that the cops and the landloard pulled up to the house. My dad took the cop to the crawl space and when they came back out the cop called someone on his radio and told us that we would have to go someplace else for the night. They put us up in a motel for the night.
We went back to the house the next day to get some stuff cuz we were told we had to stay in the motel for a bit longer. The floor in my room was ripped up and the doorway was taped off.
I never went back to that house. As a matter of fact the land lord set us up in a new place that was alot better than that place. My parents would go back to the house for our stuff and acted like nothing was going on.
When I got older I was able to put it all together.
The people who had lived there before us had kept there retared son in the crawl space when he had become to hard to take care of. He had died down there and my dad found his bones in the same spot I found the shirt.
So I never found out what was making the scraping sounds but I have my Ideas and they keep me from sleeping in rooms with wood floors.
Two weird/odd type dreams I used to have when I was little-
The Hulk Jump dream-I had this one a bunch of times, where I'd travel all over jumping like the Hulk does.
The Between the Walls Dream-lots of times I found myself in a hallway that was between the walls.....never scary, but never really found out what was in there-
kind of a bummer..........

My dad told me they only found bones. I still have no clue what the scratching noise I heard was.Quote:

Now, how Am I suppose to sleep tonight!
I felt pretty safe in my bedroom.And I liked playig in the basement but when I had to come up from the basement at night I would always run up after closing the lights and I always felt that someone was running after me. Just telling it makes me shiver.
I had a recurring dream as a kid tha would meake me leave my room and go sleep on the ground in my parents room. I was dreaming that I was in an all white room my back against a wall while a big dragon like monster was coming and I was screaming but not sound would come out of my mouth.
